In autumn 2010 it seems impossible to stay more than 24 hours without rain; after the short break of progress made during the day today, tomorrow a new disturbance will arrive in Sardinia and will not abandon us before Tuesday. It seems then the first wave of looming cold winter especially for northern Italy, our island will be affected only partially, but enough to bring down a moderate heat and perhaps the earliest snowfall on the highest of the countries Barbagia.
Let's step back and let's look at the weather for tomorrow, Saturday, November 20. Already in these hours are the first visible cloudiness in the sky, an unmistakable sign of the imminent arrival of worsening, it is possible that already during the night a few brief rain may affect the part west of our island. During the night, even Cagliari could be struck by the first rainfall of the disruption caused by the advanced part, in the morning and the sky will be partly cloudy during the afternoon there will be a temporary improvement, the east wind will be replaced by the south-west during the day and temperatures will be between 13 and 18 degrees maximum. During the night the clouds return to cover the sky Sunday morning and the first rains have already wet the whole Cagliari, the rains are not continuous but short breaks will take turns with moderate rain. The wind will blow from the south-west quadrant and the maximum will not exceed 17 degrees, while the minimum will remain stationary. Monday precipitation will become more continuous and the south-west winds will become cooler, the effects on temperature will not wait, maximum and minimum are seen falling, hours more "hot" does not exceed 15 degrees, while the night touch again to 11 degrees. Tuesday will rotate at the Mistral wind and rain will hit again in the afternoon south of Sardinia, while the rest of the day the sky will remain rather cloudy, temperatures will suffer a further decrease, the minimum will drop below 10 degrees, while the maximum will not exceed 14-15 degrees. On Wednesday and next Thursday, temperatures will drop even a few degrees, but for more details refer to the updating of next week.
This is likely to a new wet weekend, and a likely entry of cold air from Russia could, by the middle of next week, give us a few days maybe a little 'spring up, but with lower temperatures, in inland areas but may remain a discrete cloud which, as mentioned at the beginning of article, could bring the first snowfalls in the most senior of Sardinia. From 1400 meters of altitude, the snow has already appeared on the Gennargentu and 1600 accumulations were already abundant, more than 40 cm of snow.
